nt oskrnl.exe

Postby vegaspat » Thu Mar 06, 2008 1:26 pm

After running a full scan this item continues to come up stating a change?

It appears it is not a threat but after searching with a Google search I don't really get an answer.

What is it?

Thanks.

The NTOSKRNL.exe is actually one of Windows core system files. It can be changed by many things, not all of which are viruses. I'd just ignore it unless it tells you the file is infected.

On the other hand, if the file is literally named "nt oskrnl.exe" including the space that could be a problem as the system file doesn't have a space.

No space, but I'll keep an eye on that.

Thanks.
