Virus or not?

Postby bearcat » Wed Sep 01, 2010 2:09 pm

I am running Windows XP Home Edition, with AVG Free, and keep getting this error message:

avgnsx.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close.

I use Firefox browser 3.6.8.

Resident Shield popped up and said it had found a Trojan, but the message box disappeared
too quickly to be useful.

Every time I turn on AVG, for two seconds it says in red letters that there are no active components,
then suddenly changes to green letters and says that all components are active and up to date.

Malwarebytes found three Trojans and eliminated them, but the system is still slow.

You can try to run a repair installation with the latest download of AVG Free, but because this isn't the AVG Free forum, that's all I got to say. :)
